Lóstregos emerged from A Coruña, Galicia, in late 2014 with one purpose: keeping alive the flame of Galician folklore, legend and ancestral knowledge under the banner of black metal. Their name means "lightning" in Galician, and their music strikes just as hard: savage tremolo riffing, blasting drums, black metal screams and death metal growls woven through clean pagan vocals and razor-sharp acoustic passages. Their lyrics, written entirely in Galician, are as much an act of cultural resistance as an artistic statement. After the debut Alzamento no Norte (2016) and two further albums, the trio delivered Nai (Dusktone, October 2024), their most ambitious work yet: a conceptual journey through the four primordial elements, described by the band as "a singular point of balance between light and darkness". Drawing comparisons from Dissection to the Hellenic scene (Kawir, Varathron), Lóstregos are one of the Iberian underground's best-kept secrets. MYFBEF is about to change that.
